EDUCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must hold specific academic and professional credentials by the closing date of the application. a) Higher Secondary: Must have passed the Plus-Two Science Examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, or an equivalent recognized board. b) Technical Qualification: Must possess a Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology (DMRT) or a Bachelor in Medical Radiation Technology (BMRT) from a Government-recognized institute or university approved by the All India Council of Technical Education or the Government of Odisha. c) Professional Registration: Candidates must possess a valid registration certificate from the Radiographers Council of the State of Odisha on or before the date of advertisement submission.
ODIA LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY As this is a state-level post in Odisha, mandatory linguistic proficiency is strictly enforced. a) Must be able to speak, read, and write the Odia language fluently. b) Must have passed the Middle English School Examination with Odia as a language subject, OR c) Passed Matriculation (or equivalent) examination with Odia as the medium of examination in non-language subjects, OR d) Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class-VII or above.
SALARY STRUCTURE AND REMUNERATION Pay Scale: The position falls under Pay Matrix Level 7. Estimated Base Salary: The starting basic pay in Level 7 typically ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month. This is supplemented by standard allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Medical Allowances as sanctioned by the Odisha Government for Group C employees.
SELECTION PROCESS The recruitment is conducted purely on merit, completely eliminating the personal interview round. Phase A - Written Examination: A single-stage competitive written exam comprising objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Phase B - Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on written exam cut-off marks will be called to verify their original educational, technical, and category certificates.
DETAILED EXAM PATTERN The written examination tests both core technical knowledge and basic aptitude. The total duration is 2 hours (120 minutes). The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions for 100 Marks.

Radiological Physics: X-ray production, properties of X-rays, X-ray circuits, tubes, and generators. Darkroom Procedures: Film processing, chemical solutions, cassettes, intensifying screens, and darkroom layouts. Radiography Techniques: Positioning of patients for upper and lower extremities, skull, spine, pelvis, chest, and abdomen imaging. Radiation Hazards and Protection: Maximum permissible doses, shielding materials, monitoring devices like TLD badges, and safety rules for healthcare workers and patients. Special Procedures: Barium studies, IVU, HSG, and basic knowledge of CT Scan, MRI, and Ultrasound principles.
SECTION B - PRACTICAL SKILLS (25 MARKS) This section covers scenario-based questions assessing real-world clinical judgment. It includes identifying imaging artifacts and troubleshooting machine errors. It also covers patient care, handling emergencies in the radiology department, first aid, sterilization, hygiene protocols, and infection control inside the scanning room.
SECTION C - ARITHMETIC (10 MARKS) Topics include Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Average, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Work, Time and Distance. All arithmetic problems are restricted to the High School Certificate (10th standard) difficulty level.
SECTION D - ENGLISH (5 MARKS) Topics include basic grammar, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, sentence structuring, and reading comprehension at the 10th-grade level.
